OPEN CALL – Student Artistic Experiments
THIS CALL IS NOW CLOSED.
Conceiving of artistic practice as a leading force in knowledge production, how can practice be articulated as a mode of thinking, of processing knowledge, and of engaging with the world?
As part of Visioning the Future – Online Seminar Series, we are looking to showcase innovative artistic practices in PhD projects. On the 17th and on the 24th September, three PhD students will introduce distinct forms of articulating research and practice, which will be followed by a discussion focussed on the student perspective on the Artistic Doctorate in Ireland.
This is an opportunity for you to show artistic work – finished or in progress – to a wider international audience. We are seeking proposals of 6 minutes online experimental presentations: live performance for camera, film, live extracts of music composition, images, performance lectures, or other forms which may suit your project. You may choose to present live, or you may prepare a pre-recorded video to show on the day.
Eligibility: PhD students in any stage of their PhDs in the disciplines of Music, Dance, Theatre or Film in an Irish Institution are eligible to apply.
How to apply: please fill in the short Application Form, save it as a PDF, and return to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please attach 1 JPEG image representative of your artistic practice.
Application deadline: Friday 14 August 2020, 5pm
Results announcement to applicants: between 21 and 28 of August 2020
Presentation dates: 17 September and 24 September, 11am – 12am
